Another great day

July 15, 2010

It’s another great day at camp…

This morning we replaced normal rotations with some special activities. All the campers who signed up for horses were able to go on a trail ride this morning with our horse staff. What a great way to spend the morning!

The rest of the camp was split into two groups. One group played capture the flag for the first half of the morning, while the other half enjoyed a pool party. We switched half-way through so everyone would get a chance to do both activities. Nothing says camp like a pool party and capture the flag – two COH traditions!

Last night, some campers enjoyed a campout across the street with a few of our counselors. They roasted s’mores over the campfire, had a special devotion, and spend the night sleeping in tents under the stars!

This afternoon many cabins will be spending time preparing a special skit to perform at our closing campfire tonight, or at closing ceremony tomorrow. These skits are a great way for campers to share how God is working in their lives, and offers a great message to the rest of the campers! Everyone has a chance to be involved!

Tomorrow will be “closing day” for many campers, while others will stay over the weekend for 2-week session. The LIT campers will be departing for their respective hiking & canoe trips tomorrow after breakfast, and will return Sunday evening at campfire.

Next week will be a busy week – a visit from ACA, a water park trip for the ACE campers, and the Board will be visiting on Wednesday, which means it’ll be time for the annual Staff vs. Board Basketball game!

More good times ahead…
