Music Video night at Oak Hill

July 14, 2010

Tuesday night was one of the more interesting (and enjoyable…and funny) nights we’ve had so far this summer. The original plan was to have “LIT Hunt” outside, but due to inclement weather we moved inside for what we call “Make Your Own Music Video” night at Camp Oak Hill.

Each cabin (14 in all!) were allowed to choose a song and create a “music video” to perform in front of the camp. Three judges offered their insights and critique of each performance. One of the judges was former counselor and board member Tom Dixon, also known as “Mr. Camp Oak Hill.”

First place went to the Tuscarora cabin (boys), who’s rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb” was worthy of 1 million views on YouTube. The choreography showed creativity, imagination, and just plain talent. Great job, Tusky’s – you moved mountains!

Also worth mentioning was the Choctaw cabin (youngest boys) version of “Apache,” a long-time camp favorite. Their brilliant dance moves moved us to rename the song “Choctaw.” The LIT girl’s tribute to Michael Jackson also received critical praise.

Great job to ALL of the campers for their creativity and humor that contributed to such a fun night at camp.

Last night the Leadership campers also enjoyed Bible Study and worship led by Tom Dixon. They are all having a great time and looking forward to their “out of camp” trips to the mountains (LIT’s) and water park (ACE’s) coming up soon!

We are currently unable to post any videos due to the slow connection speed at camp. When weekly videos are completed and we are able to upload them, we will have them available!
