Get to Know the COH Staff: Brian

May 5, 2010

Over the next few weeks we’re going to do a series of posts designed to help you get to know the full-time staff at Camp Oak Hill. To begin, meet our Camp Director, Brian!

Name: Brian Hollingsworth

Position: Camp Director

What You Do: I oversee all aspects of the summer  camp program, hire the summer staff, help promote camp in our surrounding communities, book and manage all retreats during non-summer months, and assist in any other area of camp as needed!

How long have you worked at COH? I worked as the Leadership Program Director during the summer of 2007, and joined the staff full time as Camp Director in June 2008.
Best thing about working at camp: Working with people! Between the campers, college-aged summer staff, and retreat groups, I get to work with people of all different ages and backgrounds. The relationships I get to form with these people is the best part about my job!

Favorite thing to do when not at camp: Spend time with my family, read, paint, play piano, get lost in thought

Favorite Bible Verse: I don’t have one specific verse, but one of my favorite stories in the Bible is when Jacob wrestles with God in Genesis 32:24-32

If you were a super hero, what would your super power be? Hmmm…I would be able to sing really really well. Haven’t yet figured out how exactly that would combat the villains….

Complete this sentence: “When I was a kid, I dreamed of one day _____”

When I was a kid, I dreamed of one day flying around in cars and living in giant cylindrical domes. Then the year 2000 came and went…
